Wildly in Love
Some engagement sessions just hit different—this was one of them. When we started planning Josie + Kyle's engagement session it was clear they didn’t want stiff, posed photos. They know I specialize in authentic story telling through imagery and wanted their session to feel real, like a little glimpse into their actual life. And that’s exactly what we did.
Between their daughter, Laney, their horse, a dirt bike, and an old truck, this session had all the best things: adventure, nostalgia, and a whole lot of love.
We started out slow—just soaking in the golden light and letting things unfold naturally. Josie, in her boots and a flowing dress, walked alongside her horse while Laney ran nearby, completely in her element. Meanwhile, Kyle stood back, watching his girls with the kind of love you can’t fake.
It wasn’t about perfect poses. It was about letting them just be—laughing, chasing each other, soaking in these moments before the sun dipped too low.
Then, things took a turn (in the best way possible). Kyle and Josie hopped on their dirt bike and took off, tearing through the open fields while Laney cheered them on. These are the moments I live to capture—the ones full of motion and energy, where you can almost feel the wind whipping through the frame.
There’s something about the way Kyle looked over his shoulder at Josie, the way she held onto him, cowboy hat and all, that just screamed this is us.
As the sun started setting, we brought out their friends old truck—because no engagement session with this much personality would be complete without it. Josie leaned into Kyle, and for a second, everything just slowed down.
This was their love story, in its truest form. No fancy backdrops, no over-the-top setups—just them, in a place that means something to them, living the life they love.
Honestly? Sessions like this are my favorite. When couples bring their real life into their engagement photos, the pictures just hit different. They feel natural. Honest. Like a snapshot of what life actually looks like, instead of something styled to look perfect.
