Petaluma Hilltop Maternity Session | Megan + Dylan
It’s always so surreal getting to photograph couples through so many seasons of their lives. I photographed Megan and Dylan’s engagement session, then their wedding, and now their maternity session which honestly feels so special and full circle to me. Repeat clients truly mean the world to me, and getting to document these milestones as their story grows is something I never take lightly.
We shot their maternity session on digital + film, at the dreamiest Petaluma hilltop location with rolling hills and the prettiest golden light. Everything about the evening felt so calm, easy, and completely like them.
Megan wore the cutest all denim look to start, then changed into a white Free People top for her second outfit and I was obsessed. Dylan wore jeans and a Carhartt shirt which fit the vibe of the session perfectly. I always want my sessions to feel authentic to my couples and not overly styled or forced, and these two made that so effortless.
Some of my favorite images were the in-between moments, laughing together, walking through the hills while the sun went down. Nothing complicated, just documenting this season exactly as it felt. Megan shares my love for film so this was a film heavy session and it made my creative heart so happy!
Sessions like this are why I love maternity photography so much. Preserving a feeling you’ll want to remember forever.
